IT Director (Insurance)

Our Client is an insurance company operating on the Polish market, offering a broad range of protection solutions for individual and business clients. The company provides products in the areas of property, motor, health, and life insurance, as well as solutions tailored to the needs of various professional groups and organizations.

Due to further growth and a planned transformation of core systems, we are currently looking for an experienced professional to join the organization.

📍 WORK MODE: Warsaw Office (3-4 days weekly)

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring continuity, stability, and reliability of IT systems supporting the company’s key business processes

• Overseeing the maintenance and development of IT systems, including data warehouses and reporting systems

• Managing the software development lifecycle and ensuring high quality of delivered solutions

• Managing the IT team (approx. 20 people), including work organization, competency development, and cooperation with external vendors

• Supervising SLA delivery for business-critical systems

• Analyzing business needs and initiating solutions supporting digitalization and process optimization

• Developing and overseeing application architecture in line with the company’s IT strategy

• Managing and reporting on IT projects, including key transformation initiatives (replacement of the core system in the health insurance domain)

Requirements

• University degree in computer science or a related field

• Minimum 4 years of experience in managing IT teams

• Experience in organizing team work, setting priorities, and monitoring task delivery

• Ability to effectively cooperate with technical teams and business stakeholders

• Experience working with insurance systems or within companies supporting the insurance sector

• Experience in delivering IT system implementations or major changes to existing core systems

• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and IT project management principles

• Experience in cooperation with external IT vendors

• Strong decision-making skills, independence, and responsibility for team results

• Communicative level of English

Nice to have

• Certifications in project management or IT

• Practical knowledge of modern technologies used in business and integration systems

• Knowledge of core insurance systems (e.g. TIA)
