Salary: 1100-1300 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: elastic hybrid from Warszawa (at least 2 days per week from the office)

Project

---

You will be involved in a strategic financial project in the Payments Data Domain, aiming to modernize and optimize the way payment-related data is processed, stored, and delivered across the organization. The project focuses on transitioning legacy systems to a modern event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka and Java 21, enabling near real-time data pipelines with high throughput, reliability, and maintainability. This initiative plays a key role in enhancing reporting capabilities, regulatory compliance, and integration with other financial services platforms.

 

Responsibilities you'll have

• Designing, building and maintaining near real-time data pipelines for processing payment transactions and related metadata
• Reviewing, refactoring and optimizing existing Java services to improve performance, readability and maintainability
• Working as an Expert Java Developer (with Apache Kafka) in a cross-functional, Agile team focused on payment data solutions
• Acting as a Technical Lead for developers and data engineers, providing guidance, support and code reviews
• Contributing to the solution architecture and ensuring long-term maintainability and scalability of applications
• Interacting directly with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Supporting the migration from legacy systems to a modern microservices-based architecture
• Collaborating with other engineers and ensuring proper documentation of technical designs and implementation details

 

 

Expected competences and knowledge

• Expert-level knowledge of Java, including Java 8 and Java 21
• Proven experience in designing, developing and optimizing Kafka producer and consumer code
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, DB2 or MSSQL
• Experience in building distributed, highly available and high-throughput applications
• Practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, Microservices Architecture, and Clean Code principles
• Good understanding of data architecture and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with solution design and a proactive attitude in driving architectural decisions
