IT Operations Engineer

Salary: 800 - 1000 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: elastic hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk / Warszawa / Łódź (at least 2 days per week from the office)

Project

We're looking for an IT Operations Engineer to join our client's team. The project involves managing and maintaining data ingestion processes in a Hadoop environment. The team works in an Agile setting, ensuring smooth onboarding of new data sources and reliable operation of existing ones. Key technologies include Linux, SQL, git, and cloud platforms, with automation and data pipeline tools as additional advantages.

Responsibilities you'll have

• Support and maintain systems or data ingestion pipelines in Unix/Linux environments
• Write and execute SQL queries to support operational tasks
• Track and manage changes using git
• Troubleshoot technical issues and assist in resolving configuration problems
• Test and validate system or pipeline configurations
• Collaborate closely with team members in a Scrum/Agile environment
• Contribute to automation, cloud, or data platform enhancements using Jenkins, Python, Hadoop, AWS, or Robot Framework where applicable

Expected competences and knowledge

• Experience working in Unix / Linux environments
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Familiarity with git version control
• Logical and analytical thinking
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic experience with testing configurations
• Ability to work effectively in Scrum teams
• Nice-to-have skills include Jenkins, basic Python knowledge, Jira, Confluence, Helix / Remedy, Hadoop, AWS, and Robot Framework
