As a Mid-Level Banking Applications Support Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution dedicated to seamless banking operations and innovative financial solutions. In this role, you will support critical banking applications, ensuring their smooth functioning and resolving complex functional issues that impact back-office processes. Your main responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary escalation point (second line) for complex functional issues related to banking applications, managing incidents from initial report to resolution.
  • Analyze production incidents systematically, focusing on transaction flows and calculation discrepancies to identify the root cause.
  • Investigate incidents by liaising with application users across EMEA, utilizing logs and basic database queries for troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with technical support teams to ensure timely incident resolution and minimal business impact.
  • Document recurring issues and propose process or system improvements to enhance support quality.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining thorough documentation and knowledge base articles on best practices.
  • Understand back-office banking processes such as payments, settlements, and reconciliations to facilitate effective support.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a key user, super user, or functional support in banking or financial applications.
  • Strong knowledge of back-office processes like payments, settlements, and reconciliations.
  • Fluent English communication skills; French language skills are a plus.
  • Enjoy dissecting complex problems and applying analytical thinking to identify root causes.
  • Familiarity with support methodologies such as ITIL (Availability Management, Problem Management, Change Management).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

  • Experience working in banking support environments.
  • Knowledge of SQL or basic database querying.

Language Required for the role:

  • Fluent in English.
