SCADA Engineer
Location: Kolding + Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm (work visa for the UK needed).
The majority of the work needs to happen in DK where the rest of the clients SCADA Life Cycle engineers and the project manager for this project are located. The assumption is that the consultant can expect to be on-site in the UK about 20-25% of the time, with 75-80% of work occurring in DK.
The SCADA Life-Cycle Engineer will drive the critical Ormonde Level-1 SCADA Upgrade, addressing lifecycle deficiencies identified during the July 2024 SCADA audit, which revealed issues in network components, ICS SCADA, and Senvion control systems for WTG and HV networks. Many components are 15+ years old, beyond lifetime recommendations, and pose a grid compliance risk. Previously prepared engineering proposals must now be reviewed, validated, updated, and taken forward to suppliers.
The SCADA engineer will act as the key technical interface supporting Digital Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Asset Management (AM), OEMs (including SGRE & Schneider), and other suppliers.
Review the July 2024 Audit Report and produce an updated lifecycle assessment.
Confirm and update the 2024 component replacement proposal.
Validate component EOL status and update the EOL budget.
Prepare updated technical requirements for suppliers.
Lead the evaluation and specification of a replacement for the ICS SCADA system.
Document work in Digital Engineering Jira tickets, Confluence, SharePoint.
Validate integration between different systems.
Deep understanding of WTG Level-1 SCADA (Senvion/Repower) and ICS SCADA systems.
Strong experience with ageing infrastructure assessments and lifecycle engineering.
Network engineering knowledge (WTG networks, ICS networks).
Experience conducting or responding to SCADA audits.
Expertise in specifying replacement SCADA systems.
Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, SCADA/Controls, or equivalent.
5+ years SCADA engineering experience within Wind Power Plants.
Experience interacting with OEMs (Siemens Gamesa, Senvion, Schneider).
Ability to re-establish structure in projects impacted by changes.
This role is essential for improving SCADA systems for wind farms. It involves both remote and on-site work in Denmark and the UK and will require strong collaboration with various stakeholders and suppliers.
