Summary: The Documentation Engineer and Technical Content Writer plays a crucial role in developing high-quality technical documentation for a system focused on testing, monitoring, and controlling lighting for unmanned offshore installations. The position aims to deliver solutions to leading global players in the offshore wind industry through close collaboration with an agile team of engineers and stakeholders.
This position supports a large-scale wind project involving advanced lighting systems (frost light control, emergency, and escape systems). The project has a significant documentation workload, including execution plans, quality inspections, light calculations, and technical data sheets.
- Create, manage, and deliver technical documentation for a single site.
- Handle documentation for various technical systems, electrical, construction control, and lighting systems.
- Upload documents and coordinate with subcontractors.
- Support the senior lift operations consultant and assist in administration and operational organization.
- Role is more operational/back-office focused than client-facing engineering.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation for specific industrial system development projects.
- Collaborate closely with development and delivery teams to ensure accurate and relevant documentation.
- Ensure all technical documentation complies with applicable standards, certifications, and regulations.
- Create, prepare, and manage documentation for installation, operation, maintenance, and system interfaces,
- Update and refine existing documentation in line with project progress and customer feedback.
- Support project-specific documentation needs, including bid materials and customer delivery documentation.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing by organizing and managing structured documentation tools and workflows.
Key Requirements:
- Proficient in technical English, with excellent writing and editing capabilities.
- Solid technical knowledge of electrical and automation engineering concepts.
- Senior-level expertise in technical documentation for industrial systems.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and methodical working style.
- Familiarity with version control and documentation workflow tools.
- Great communication skills for effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
- Eager to learn, grow, and utilize efficient and innovative tools, including artificial intelligence.
- Must be organized, technical, and capable of managing detailed documentation delivery.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with agile project management methodologies.

- Location: On-site at Borgundfjordvegen 116, Ålesund (minimum of 3 days per week).
