We are expanding our engineering team in Gdańsk and are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a long-term partnership with a major Scandinavian client.

This is a chance to join our local backend team in Tri-City as we grow, working on modern, business-critical digital platforms used at scale.

You won’t be maintaining legacy systems. You’ll be evolving modern services into cloud-native, event-driven architectures, focusing on reliability, performance, and clean design. If you value ownership, architecture discussions, and long-term impact, this role is for you!

The Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will:

• Design and develop scalable backend services and REST APIs

• Contribute to modernizing systems into cloud-native, event-driven architectures

• Drive high standards in performance, security, and reliability

• Participate in architectural decisions and technical improvements

• Work in a cross-functional DevOps setup with end-to-end ownership

• Write automated tests and support a strong TDD mindset

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications in production

• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and product stakeholders

Tech Environment

We’re working with modern technologies, including:

• Java 11/17+ (Streams, Records, functional APIs, concurrency, performance tuning)

• Spring Boot 3.x / Spring Framework 6.x

• REST API design & implementation

• Oracle SQL (performance optimization, joins, indexing)

• Microservices architecture

• RabbitMQ & third-party API integrations

• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM)

• Kubernetes & modern CI/CD pipelines

• Logging, monitoring & observability practices

Nice to Have

• Kafka

• Redis or Hazelcast

• Advanced Kubernetes (EKS, Helm)

• Event-driven architecture design

• ELK / Splunk

• Security best practices (OAuth, JWT, OWASP Top 10)
