Job description

Why Join Us

At Cloudfide, we engineer solutions where data truly becomes an accelerator for innovation. We build and evolve large-scale Big Data and cloud-native platforms for global clients, including leaders in retail and the Fortune 500. We process massive, complex datasets, operate fully in the cloud ecosystem, and work with the latest technologies, including AI, ML, MLOps, and modern data architectures.

Our projects have measurable, real‑world impact - from enhancing customer experiences at scale to empowering data-driven decision-making in high‑visibility global organizations. As we continue to grow, you'll have the opportunity to shape solutions, mentor others, drive architecture decisions, and take ownership of strategic initiatives.

Opportunity overview

As a Mid Power BI Engineer, you will design, build, and migrate enterprise-grade Power BI solutions for our international clients. This role goes beyond report development — you'll work across data modeling, backend connectivity, and report migration, ensuring that analytics solutions are performant, scalable, and production-ready in modern cloud environments including Databricks.

Expect a cloud-native environment (Azure-first), complex semantic models, and high-visibility dashboards used across global organizations and Fortune 500 clients.

You'll join a team of passionate engineers who value technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Your Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining enterprise Power BI solutions — reports, dashboards, and semantic models — for global clients across diverse industries.

  • Writing and optimizing complex DAX measures and calculated columns, with a strong understanding of evaluation context and query performance.

  • Developing and maintaining Power Query (M) transformations to shape, clean, and prepare data at the model layer.

  • Designing robust data models — star schema, relationships, cardinality — optimized for performance and scalability.

  • Connecting Power BI to Databricks — navigating the workspace, establishing connectivity, and writing light Spark SQL where needed.

  • Migrating Power BI reports between backends and enterprise environments — ensuring accuracy, consistency, and minimal disruption during transitions.

  • Collaborating with Data Engineers and business stakeholders to understand data structures, gather requirements, and translate them into clear, actionable analytics.

  • Managing version control for Power BI assets using Git and contributing to CI/CD practices across projects.

  • Engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels — communicating progress, managing expectations, and presenting solutions clearly.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of commercial experience in Power BI development in an enterprise environment.

  • Strong DAX proficiency — able to write complex, optimized measures and troubleshoot evaluation context issues.

  • Solid command of Power Query (M) for data transformation and shaping.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles — star schema, snowflake schema, relationships, and cardinality.

  • Solid SQL skills — comfortable querying and transforming data across relational sources.

  • Basic familiarity with Databricks — navigating the workspace, connecting Power BI, and working with Spark SQL at a foundational level.

  • Experience with or strong exposure to Power BI report migration between backends or enterprise environments.

  • Strong attention to detail, stakeholder management skills, and collaborative mindset.

  • Fluent English communication, able to work effectively across international teams and client stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • General awareness of Azure data services (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS).

  • Basic working knowledge of Git and version control for Power BI projects.

  • PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification.

  • DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification.

  • Exposure to Power BI Premium, Fabric, or XMLA endpoints.

  • Experience in enterprise-scale Power BI deployments across large organizations.
