Power BI Developer with KQL (f/m/x)

We are looking for a specialist responsible for designing and developing analytical solutions based on Microsoft Power BI and Kusto Query Language (KQL). The role combines competencies in Business Intelligence, data modeling, dashboard creation, and the analysis of logs and telemetry data.
An additional aspect of the role involves working with data originating from embedded/firmware systems. This is not a firmware development position, but a good understanding of how embedded devices operate and how their logs/telemetry are generated will greatly support effective analysis.
The person in this position will collaborate with business stakeholders as well as Data, DevOps, Security, and IT teams to deliver reports, dashboards, and analytics supporting both business and operational decision-making.
Your tasks
Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards
Creating data models, relationships, measures, and calculations using DAX
Building data transformation processes in Power Query / M
Integrating data from various sources such as SQL Server, Azure services, APIs, Excel, SharePoint, and ERP/CRM systems
Writing and optimizing KQL queries for telemetry, logging, and monitoring data
Analyzing data from platforms such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, Application Insights, and Azure Data Explorer
Interpreting logs and telemetry originating from embedded/firmware devices or IoT systems
Creating alerts, operational dashboards, and incident analyses using KQL
Collaborating with stakeholders to collect requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Designing KPIs, metrics, and reports supporting operational, security, or infrastructure areas
Ensuring data quality and report performance
Documenting data models, queries, and analytical solutions
Supporting end users and conducting training sessions on dashboards and reports
Requirements
Over 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI (reporting, dashboards, data modeling)
Strong knowledge of SQL (including joins, aggregations, and query optimization)
Solid experience with DAX (measures, calculated columns, context handling)
Good understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, relationships, performance optimization)
Practical experience writing advanced KQL queries
Familiarity with Azure data platforms such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Application Insights
Understanding of embedded/firmware concepts, including the ability to interpret device logs and telemetry data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Residing in Poland required
Nice-to-have requirements
