The Role: Senior SQA Engineer

The Team: 

CARFAX for Police now works directly with thousands of agencies across the United States and Canada. We’re committed to supporting to your agency during each step of the process to ensure your officers get the most out of the tools. As a development team, we are responsible of building new investigative tools, crash report collection and analysis tools and integrate shared services to provide new features to police force.

The Impact:

As a Senior SQA Engineer on the CARFAX for Police team you will work with Project Manager and Developers to test full stack applications and processes that support law enforcement through modernizing data collection and vehicle accident report processing.

What’s in it for you:

• You'll be able to help improve the quality assurance process for a big-impact application on US market, first manually, then help automating the process for continuous improvement
• You'll have an impact on direct road safety within US - our goal is to build accessible apps with great UI/UX that will be used in field to reduce the time needed at scene of accident
• You'll be working in a dynamic, self-organizing superteam of 4 SQAs and 21 devs on 4 parallel lines of projects
• Participate in the team transformation from manual-first to automate-first testing

Responsibilities: 

• Work in a team environment using agile practices
• Test web and mobile applications and validate them against conditions of satisfaction
• Coordinate work with other SQAs and developers and aid SQAs with their tasks
• Test given work cards in assigned project and help with testing maintenance and support tasks
• Learn and know business process in order to reconstruct real world police report scenarios for testing purposes
• Constantly learn from and educate others to improve yourself and CARFAX
• Oversee, maintain and develop end-to-end automation in collaboration with the developers

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience working with commercial web applications - manual and automated testing
• Experience or interest working with mobile apps in the field of manual testing
• Ability to solve complex problems and learn from mistakes
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment
• Very good English – you will need it a lot on day to day work with Project Manager and Product Owner
• Git version control and git flow (optional)
• Knowledge of AWS environment is a plus
• Knowledge of HTTP protocol and insight on RESTful/Service Oriented Architectures/GraphQL
• Knowledge of web terminology
• When remote – Ability to travel to the office once a month
• ISTQB certificate is nice to have
