Senior QA Automation Consultant

The QA Automation Consultant will define and implement the UI automation and quality strategy. The role covers Playwright, Gherkin/Cucumber, Pactflow, GitLab-to-GitHub migration, CI/CD quality gates and coaching teams to adopt modern quality engineering practices. It is a strategic role supporting multiple scrum teams and working closely with the Senior Frontend/UI.

Responsibilities:

• Define the target QA automation strategy for UI services.

• Establish standards for unit, component, integration, E2E and contract testing.

• Lead the migration to Playwright with Gherkin/Cucumber.

• Develop a scalable automation framework suitable for SaaS products.

• Introduce and integrate Pact/Pactflow into the testing strategy and CI/CD pipelines.

• Review current GitLab pipelines and guide migration to GitHub.

• Define triggers, test stages, quality gates and reporting standards.

• Upskill engineers to perform front-end automation and quality ownership.

• Teach testing patterns, strategies and best practices.

• Introduce AI tools (such as Copilot) to accelerate test creation and maintenance.

• Work closely with the Frontend team to ensure unified standards and consistency.

• Provide expert support for multiple scrum teams across India and globally.

And if you possess...

• Strong experience in UI test automation for Angular/JavaScript environments.

• Expert knowledge of Playwright, Gherkin and Cucumber.

• Practical experience with Pact/Pactflow.

• Deep understanding of CI/CD for UI applications (GitLab and GitHub).

• Proven record of implementing QA strategies in enterprise or SaaS environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in capability building and QA transformations.

• Knowledge of modern quality engineering practices for SaaS.

• Experience with AI-assisted testing.
