Job description

We are a small team that is responsible for planning, developing, and operating the location-based services used in the Android and iOS PAYBACK app. We really love working with mobile technologies, modern development languages, new development paradigms, and agile testing. We implement and host our backend platform using the latest cloud technologies.

Your Team
• Provides location-based services for the PAYBACK App and occasionally works on other app features
• Is responsible for the architecture, development, and operation of the Proximity platform
• Consists of generalists who learn new things every day

Your responsibilities:

We are looking for an engineer who has experience in building scalable backends for a mobile platform (web services, serverless functions, streaming architecture).
Developing new features in an agile environment using latest technology.
Working with POs to help define stories and priorities.
Ideally you can take over responsibility for our Android code base and will work on features in the app.
Operate and maintain the cloud environment on AWS.

Your Profile:

You have several years of professional experience in agile software development.
Skilled in writing Java, Kotlin and Python code.
Experience in developing backend web services in the cloud (Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform).
Ideally you have also experience in developing scalable Android apps and SDKs (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Koin, Coroutines).
Team-oriented problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with code-reviews and pair-programming.
Showing initiative, being self-organized, and excited to try out and learn new technologies.
