    The Financial Crime (FC) Data Platforms team’s role is to manage data products, processes and applications on the Compliance/FC Data Lakes and Cloud Environments and define the strategy for their future evolution. This encompasses the end-to-end design, modelling and delivery of enhanced datasets to optimise the performance of our crime detection models and yield the greatest possible insight for all users, including FC Analyst, Investigator, Data Scientist and MI communities, many of whom we collaborate with closely. The team is also responsible for regulating the data environment, including platform architecture, management and configuration, security and data quality.


    The Product Owner role within Data Platforms will be responsible for setting the strategy and direction of our products and capabilities with our stakeholders. The Product Owner will build both a good understanding of our core products and strong relationships with our stakeholders to support engagements across the Financial Crime function. They will also work with the business, technology and architecture teams to define and prioritise requirements on the product backlog.



    What you’ll do


    • Manages the vision of what is to-be built and conveys that vision to the Business, Architecture and Technology teams for the Value Stream and beyond where required.
    • Expresses team backlog items along with acceptance criteria while prioritising them to best achieve the vision.
    • Ensures that the Team Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all relevant stakeholders and shows what the Agile Team will work on next.
    • Acts as the voice of the customer, making sure that the development work is maximized towards the vision.
    • Maintains and leads communication with business and technology stakeholders, including Technology representatives, Value Stream leadership/senior management, risk stewards, and regional/line of business representatives, resolving conflicting stakeholder priorities.
    • Broad understanding of products, services, and underlying processes for the team operating on an agile basis.
    • Broad understanding of the technology roadmap and strategic direction for the Value Stream.


    What you need to have to succeed in this role:


    • Experience as a product owner in a financial services and/or technology domain practising relevant agile methodologies (i.e. scrum or kanban and operating in sprints).
    • Previous data analysis/engineering/analytics expertise and familiarity with SQL desirable.
    • Working knowledge and familiarity with financial services organisations and typical customer products.
    • Familiarity with data security, privacy and access considerations when dealing with sensitive data from multiple jurisdictions.
    • Leadership on priorities and requirements for their products and engagements, communicating effectively to other teams and team members (including business and technology) to ensure capabilities are built in alignment with expectations.
    • Proactively building expertise in new tooling, concepts, industry trends and programming languages relevant to the role within anti-financial crime, data and financial service.
    • Ability to understand complex and unfamiliar problems within the role domain with a broad range of business and technical constraints and dependencies, designing data driven solutions to address them.


    Nice to have:


    • Experience in designing business architecture taxonomies (services, capabilities, etc.)
    • Experience in applying Design Thinking
    • Knowledge of and experience in Experience in Service Design
    • Lean Six Sigma certification
    • Be technology architecture literate
    • Awareness or experience of automation technologies including (e.g., RPA, NLP, NLG & Gen AI)
