Principle duties and essential functions
This position involves working in the Ethernet Access System Integration Test (SIT) department in ADVA. SIT work is focused on software and hardware releases of ADVA Ethernet Access products (FSP150 line). SIT Engineer takes part in SIT process execution and closely cooperates with Software, FPGA and Hardware teams to deliver integrated solutions to be further tested by System Verification Team.
Work is organized using Agile/SCRUM methodology. SIT engineers and SW, HW, FPGA engineers collaborate closely within SCRUM teams.
Key points of the everyday work
- Work in a SCRUM team
- Development of test cases in test management system (Polarion)
- Configuration and maintenance of test environments according to test tasks
- Documentation and tracking of defects in defect management system (Polarion)
- Test automation using script-based tools
- Review of project related technical specifications and give feedback
- Maintain test equipment and prototypes which are part of LAB
- Respond to internal customers (SW, HW, FPGA, SVT, TAC), include support for defects debugging
- Ability to use measurement and traffic generator equipment necessary for all tasks in SIT
- Independent learning about new technologies, test methods and usage of measurement equipment
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Telecom, Software or related specialization
- Very good technical English, good communication in English
- Knowledge of scripting languages, preferred work experience with these
- Preferred work experience in test environments
- Preferred knowledge of Carrier-class Ethernet technologies (QoS, Sync, Cfm, Protection, L2 Switching)
- Preferred Knowledge of Ipv4/Ipv6 routing and MPLS
- Highly self-motivated, team-work oriented, well organized
- Willing to learn new technologies and finding innovative test solutions
- Detailed and analytical in debug problems
