Senior Data Engineer (Cloud Platform)
About Our Client & The Project
On behalf of our client, a prominent global financial services institution, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer (Cloud Platform) to join their growing technology hub in Warsaw.
In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and scaling their next-generation cloud-native data platform. This is a highly visible position where you will work on building clean, automated data structures from the ground up, moving away from legacy constraints. If you enjoy having a direct impact on architecture, working with a modern data stack (MDS), and partnering with the business to drive data-driven decisions, this is the perfect challenge.
Core Tech Stack
Core: Snowflake, dbt (Data Build Tool), Python.
Orchestration & Ingestion: Airflow, modern cloud ingestion tools (e.g., Fivetran or similar).
Infrastructure: CI/CD pipelines, Git, with exposure to Terraform (infrastructure is managed by a dedicated DevOps team).
Environment: A highly progressive engineering culture that encourages and supports the use of AI-assisted development tools to optimize workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture: Designing and implementing robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for business-critical financial systems.
Data Modeling: Designing intuitive data structures and reliable semantic layers optimized for downstream business intelligence and reporting.
Automation & Quality: Building automated data quality frameworks and validation systems to ensure "zero-touch" pipeline reliability.
Performance & Cost Control: Analyzing and optimizing Snowflake workloads to maintain high query performance while managing platform costs.
Business Enablement: Collaborating with analysts and business teams to help them leverage the platform independently, providing technical guidance and documenting best practices.
Data Governance: Implementing security, auditing, and governance standards to keep financial data secure and compliant.
What Our Client Is Looking For
Technical Expertise: Strong, production-proven experience with Snowflake and a solid track record of deploying and managing dbt in production.
Coding Skills: High proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting, and pipeline integration.
Analytical Mindset: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with business stakeholders to extract requirements (rather than just working from rigid technical specs).
Modern Workflow: An interest in leveraging AI-assisted coding tools (like Cloude Code or similar) to increase development efficiency.
Automation First: A strong mindset focused on automation, testing, and building self-healing data pipelines.
Domain Exposure: Prior experience working within financial services or handling complex transactional datasets is a plus, but not a strict requirement.
What Is Offered
Impact & Ownership: The opportunity to work on a modern, scalable data platform with significant architectural freedom.
Prime Location: Modern A-class office space in Warsaw City Centre, excellently connected to public transport.
Flexible Hybrid Working: A balanced hybrid setup (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
Continuous Learning: Access to training and resources to help you master any technologies in the stack you haven't fully worked with yet.
Prestige & Growth: A stable, high-growth environment within a global financial player offering clear career progression.
