Responsibilities

• Administering and developing VMware virtualization environments (vSphere / vCenter), including cluster operations, resource configuration, standardization, and troubleshooting.

• Maintaining and improving storage infrastructure (SAN / disk arrays) - monitoring, performance optimization, capacity planning, and change support.

• Managing the Commvault platform - designing and maintaining backup policies, retention rules, schedules, and performing regular restore/recovery tests.

• Administering and maintaining Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) servers in production and test environments (stability, updates, diagnostics).

• Automating operational and administrative tasks (Ansible, Bash, Python) and contributing to Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

• Supporting BCP/DR initiatives and availability/recovery activities, including occasional visits to data centers in Poland and across Europe.

• Collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, and development teams to integrate and optimize services and platforms.

Requirements

• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in infrastructure operations (on-prem / data center / hybrid).

• Strong hands-on knowledge of VMware (vSphere/vCenter administration, clusters, resource management, troubleshooting).

• Practical understanding of storage / SAN concepts (architecture fundamentals, performance, capacity, diagnostics).

• Experience with enterprise-class backup solutions - Commvault preferred (or equivalent platforms).

• Very good knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) - administration, troubleshooting, log analysis, hardening.

• Hands-on automation experience: Ansible, Bash/Python and Git.

• Experience with database administration and operations (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) - maintenance, backup/restore, performance troubleshooting.

• Good understanding of high availability principles and BCP/DR processes, including recovery and restore practices.

• English level enabling confident technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-availability environments (e.g., fintech/trading).

• Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible AWX, GitLab CI/CD.

• Experience with HCI platforms (e.g., VxRail) and compute–storage–network integration.

• Security and compliance awareness (e.g., NIS2, GDPR).

• Certifications in VMware / Linux / Backup / Storage.
