📝Project scope

We are building a cutting-edge, high-performance object- and graph-oriented framework in Scala. This involves deep integration with the JVM internals, Scala compiler, and advanced graph work. The work requires focus on performance, with an emphasis on JVM memory allocation, concurrency, and trade-off analysis at every level.

🛠Tech stack

Scala, JVM, Java (21, with migration to 25 planned for this year), C++, performance optimisation and testing.

Extending and pushing the limits of Scala and JVM to create a high-efficiency framework, used by 1000+ engineers worldwide.

Solving complex concurrent computing, graph processing, and compiler-related problems.

Optimizing performance at both the runtime and compilation level Close collaboration with internal tooling teams.

10+ engineers, distributed across North America, Europe, and Asia. Direct Project Manager is from the UK.

What we expect in general

• Strong proficiency in Scala and its ecosystem, or extensive experience with low-level JVM internals and high-performance Java development.
• Hands-on experience with compile-time or metaprogramming: Scala macros, compiler plugins, annotation providers in Java, or bytecode manipulation.
• Deep understanding of performance optimization
• Practical experience solving graph algorithms and concurrency challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, balancing technical excellence with real-world constraints.
• Ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.
• Good command of English (B2/C1).
