Kraków-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (3 days/week remote).

As a Senior Cloud-Focused Java Backend Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution dedicated to developing cutting-edge digital banking solutions through modern cloud technologies. Your efforts will contribute to designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that elevate customer experiences across multiple platforms. Collaborating within an agile, cross-functional team, you will ensure the delivery of top-tier software products while nurturing best engineering practices and continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing and developing backend services using Java and cloud-based technologies

• Implementing serverless solutions on AWS or other public cloud platforms

• Writing and maintaining automated tests following BDD and TDD principles

• Collaborating with front-end and mobile developers for seamless integration

• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing DevOps practices

• Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform

• Participating in code reviews to uphold high-quality standards

• Working closely with product owners and designers in an agile environment

• Monitoring and optimizing application performance and scalability

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in Java development within a cloud-based environment

• Strong proficiency with AWS serverless architecture or comparable cloud platforms

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform

• Focus on code quality, testing, and clean architecture

• Experience with automated testing using BDD/TDD approaches

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Android, or iOS

• Experience within the financial services or banking sector

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes

• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)

• Mentoring experience or leadership of small development teams

Language required for the role:

• Fluent English (spoken and written)
