Job Description

The job at a glance

We’re looking for an Associate Engineering Manager to join our team and help us deliver meaningful outcomes. Working closely with your Product Manager, you’ll lead a small, agile engineering team — creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and inspired to do their best work.

Working in the Apply domain, you’ll oversee delivery, people leadership, and technical operations. You’ll help nurture an inclusive engineering culture while playing an active role in product development and technical direction.

This is an exciting opportunity to help reimagine the labour market — and make it work for everyone.

What you’ll do

  • Drive delivery outcomes that support our company OKRs

  • Lead and develop a small cross-functional engineering team (5–6 people)

  • Support the growth and career development of your team members

  • Partner with Product Manager and Staff Engineers to ensure alignment and teamwork

  • Take ownership of the operational health of our systems (technical quality, compliance, security, etc.)

  • Promote an open, inclusive, and collaborative engineering culture

  • Champion best practices, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing

  • Facilitate clear communication across stakeholders and tech teams

  • Influence technical decisions with strong engineering fundamentals

  • Build strong connections between engineering, product, and other functions

  • Actively participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and architectural decisions

  • Be a hands-on leader — ready to help with code reviews, technical troubleshooting, and system improvements when needed

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • A solid background in software engineering (JavaScript and/or .NET preferred)

  • Strong understanding of SDLC and modern cloud-based architectures (AWS is a plus)

  • Proven experience designing and building production-grade software systems

  • A hands-on mindset — able to debug, review complex code, and guide architectural tradeoffs

  • Experience working in agile product teams

  • A people-focused, supportive leadership style

  • Ability to align delivery and technical direction

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level)

Additional Information

Software / Hardware

  • Mac or Dell laptop — your choice

  • Windows or macOS system

  • 2 monitors (24", 27", or 32")

  • Adjustable desks for your comfort

  • Slack & Teams for smooth communication

  • Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)

What we offer

Your life outside work matters too — and we believe your job should enrich it, not take it over. Here’s what you’ll find with us:

  • Premium medical and dental care

  • Life insurance

  • Flex Benefits – Worksmile Cafeteria System (Multisport, vouchers, tickets, etc.)

  • Employee Referral Program

  • Hackathons, Knowledge Sharing Hours, and in-house projects

  • Tech and sport communities

  • Team get-togethers and integration parties

  • Charity initiatives & 2 extra volunteer days

  • English/German classes

  • Game room and chillout zone

Our promise

Equal opportunities are at the heart of what we do. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to our success as a global company. We want to attract, develop, and keep the best people — so we welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender identity, background, family situation, sexual orientation, disability status, ethnicity, belief, or age.

If you want to help shape the future of work — and believe in being together — we’d love to hear from you.
