Job description

Omada Identity is looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to own the reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency of our entire Azure environment — across both production and development tenants. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this is an individual-contributor leadership role: you will exercise broad cross-functional influence across all Engineering teams without managing direct reports. Your peer group includes the Release Manager, Engineering Managers, Director of Service Desk & Support, and CISO — all reporting into the same VP-level leadership layer.

You will be the go-to authority for cloud operations matters — setting direction, driving execution, and acting as the primary escalation point for major incidents and cloud risk. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership position for someone who thrives on operational excellence and can turn complex cloud challenges into clear, well-governed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Operations & Engineering Reliability

  • Own day-to-day operations of our full Microsoft Azure environment, covering both production and development tenants.

  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of all Engineering systems.

  • Establish and mature observability practices: monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding across all tenants.

  • Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code adoption (Azure CLI, ARM) and automation-first culture across Engineering.

  • Lead capacity planning and scalability strategy in partnership with feature teams.

Major Incident Management

  • Serve as Major Incident Coordinator (MIC) for critical production incidents, leading cross-functional bridges and executive communication.

  • Own root cause analysis (RCA), post-incident reviews, and follow-through on corrective actions.

  • Reduce MTTR and incident recurrence through structured continuous-improvement cycles.

  • Maintain incident response playbooks, escalation frameworks, and on-call runbooks.

Cloud Risk Management & Security

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cloud operational and security risks across both tenants.

  • Partner closely with the CISO to align cloud operations with the company's security posture and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee vulnerability management, patching strategy, and remediation tracking.

  • Drive continuous improvement in cloud security practices: Zero Trust, RBAC, conditional access, Defender for Cloud, identity governance.

  • Support security incident response in collaboration with the Security Operations function.

Cost Governance & FinOps (Production & Development)

  • Own Azure cost governance across both production and development tenants — budgeting, forecasting, and spend accountability.

  • Implement and maintain cost monitoring, resource tagging, and chargeback/showback models.

  • Embed FinOps best practices across all Engineering teams.

  • Lead optimization initiatives: rightsizing, reserved instances, autoscaling, storage lifecycle policies.

  • Provide cost transparency and forecasting to Engineering leadership and Finance.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a strategic partner to all Engineering teams — not through formal authority, but through expertise, clarity, and trust.

  • Define operational KPIs and SLOs in collaboration with team leads and Engineering leadership.

  • Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Product on cloud strategy and roadmap.

  • Champion a culture of operational accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement across Engineering.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.

  • Proven track record operating large-scale Microsoft Azure environments — deep operational fluency across compute, networking, identity, storage, and security services.

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Azure CLI and ARM templates at scale.

  • Demonstrated experience leading major incidents in production environments, including executive-level communication.

  • Strong working knowledge of cloud security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience driving cost governance and FinOps practices across a multi-tenant cloud environment.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal management authority.

  • Excellent communication skills — equally comfortable presenting to engineers and to senior leadership.

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, and/or AZ-500.

  • Experience in regulated or enterprise software environments (SaaS, IGA, or similar).

  • Familiarity with ITIL / IT Service Management frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with container platforms: AKS, Docker, Kubernetes.

  • Background in Identity & Access Management or a security-adjacent domain.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package benchmarked to market.

  • Office-based in Warsaw, with flexibility to work from home 2–3 days per week.

  • Direct reporting line to the VP of Engineering — high visibility from day one.

  • Cross-functional mandate: you shape how the entire Engineering department operates in the cloud.

  • Strong professional development support, including certification sponsorship.

  • A collaborative, pragmatic Engineering culture that values ownership and continuous improvement.
