About the role
The purpose of the Colleague Transformation Programme is to earn the trust of our colleagues in a simple and helpful way. The programme aims to provide colleagues with a better experience of working at Tesco, enhanced by technology that’s accessible anywhere and available to everyone. By reducing manual tasks and admin our Colleagues, Managers and People Partners will be able to focus on their work, building their skills and building teams.
The Associate Product Manager will help build the vision for the Colleague Facts API and deliver it across every country Tesco operates in. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team as we are at the forefront of Tesco’s global technology transformation, so we have executive sponsorship and substantial budget. The role spans the whole product lifecycle.

This role requires you to be based in or near Kraków, as you will spend 60% (3 days) of your week collaborating with colleagues at our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely. You will be responsible for
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:
• Have accountability for features within a complex product domain, and help drive product vision, roadmap and execution
• Relentlessly seek to understand the needs and pain points of my customers and business stakeholders
• Prioritise roadmaps with multiple optimisation criteria and decisively resolve trade-offs with peers and senior leaders
• Proactively partner with peers and senior stakeholders to help set the future direction of my product as part of the wider business strategy
• Ability to visualise and explain complexity to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Attitude and the aptitude to learn new product area/domain quickly
• Transparency and honesty about risks and uncertainties while pushing forward and adjusting to lessons learned
• Empathy and good listening skills to understand the needs/ pain points of your customers/ stakeholders
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories/ acceptance criteria
• Understanding of User Research/ Design Thinking concepts
You will need
You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:
• Domain expertise in online products, APIs and international product delivery. Experience in authentication and customer onboarding is a plus
• Prioritising and allocating resources across a product portfolio serving different needs, objectives and timeframes
• Taken at least 1 new product/idea from conception to go-live, through standard software product development lifecycle and got measurable success across defined KPIs
• Understanding a typical Software Development Lifecycle
• Understanding the concepts of user stories, personas, acceptance test criteria
• Understanding Agile methodologies
• Understanding tech debt and non-functional requirements like performance, security
• Translating customer requirements into technical terms
• Explaining technical capabilities and limitations to business stakeholders
• Breaking down complex problems into small, deliverable chunks of work
• Building, maintaining and prioritising a product backlog using tools such as Jira
• Documenting and explaining new requirements to engineers using tools such as Confluence/Jira/Miro
• Working in cross-functional teams distributed across multiple countries
