Solution Architect

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Solution Java Architect for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is the world’s largest organization of board-certified pathologists and a leading laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing program provider. The goal is to create a product from scratch that helps pathology organizations gain efficiencies, improve accuracy, and facilitate remote sign-offs and consultations. 

You will lead the architectural design and implementation of a complex, high-quality product in the healthcare domain. This role combines strategic system design, hands-on coding, and team collaboration. You'll play a key role in shaping the product's architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability. 

The engagement is about 9 months long. The team consists of 7 professionals. 

Tech stack: Java, Spring, AWS, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch), Angular, and Telerik.

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in Java software development.

• 3+ years of experience in an architectural or lead engineer role.

• Advanced knowledge of Java and Spring Framework (Boot, Data, Security, etc.).

• Experience designing distributed systems and RESTful APIs.

• Strong experience working with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) databases.

• In-depth understanding of cloud architectures (preferably AWS).

• Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architecture, and system integration patterns.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• At least an upper-intermediate level of English.

Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve the product's system architecture and technical vision.

• Make key decisions on technology stack, component integration, and system design.

• Ensure the application's scalability, security, and performance.

• Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, designers, and business stakeholders.

• Review code and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.

• Contribute to hands-on development when needed.

• Establish best practices and ensure high engineering standards.
