Senior OS Security Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior OS Security Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a cloud-native cybersecurity company that helps organizations automatically and continuously minimize the attack surface of their cloud workloads. 

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with Linux systems, security, or platform engineering.

• Deep understanding of Linux distributions (Debian, Alpine, RHEL, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Hands-on experience remediating CVEs (not just scanning).

• Familiarity with vulnerability tools (Grype, Trivy).

• Experience with package managers (apt, yum, apk).

• Strong understanding of scripting or programming(Python, Bash, or Go).

• Solid understanding of container image layering and optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end CVE remediation across Linux-based container images.

• Analyze vulnerabilities across OS packages, libraries, and dependencies.

• Patch, rebuild, and validate hardened container images.

• Reduce attack surface by removing unnecessary packages and components.

• Build and scale automated pipelines for continuous patching and image rebuilding.

• Generate and maintain SBOMs and ensure supply chain integrity.

• Partner with platform and security teams to integrate into CI/CD workflows.

• Continuously improve image performance, size, and security posture.
