We're looking for a Data-savvy Project Manager to join our team at STX Next — someone who thrives at the intersection of delivery, leadership, and data.
If you have a track record of leading complex projects, experience in data-related domains, and are ready to take on both delivery and people management responsibilities, this role is for you. You’ll work closely with engineering leaders, clients, and stakeholders to make sure our data projects drive measurable impact — while also helping build a strong internal data culture.
- Lead data-intensive projects from discovery through delivery — including scope, planning, execution, risk, and budget management
- Act as a strategic delivery partner for clients — helping translate complex business needs into realistic delivery plans and working closely with data engineers and stakeholders to bring them to life
- Be a technical sparring partner for our customers — no need to write code, but you’ll be expected to understand the technical context and ask the right questions
- Take responsibility for a part of our Data Engineering team — supporting them in their development, providing feedback, and helping remove blockers
- Shape our data culture — help us build an environment of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous growth across the data practice
- Collaborate with the Head of Data Engineering and other leaders to evolve how we deliver projects and grow the team
Must have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Delivery Manager — ideally in the context of software or data engineering projects
- Exposure to the data space — whether through leading data platform, analytics, or pipeline-related initiatives, you understand the types of work data teams do and the common risks and trade-offs
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — you know how to manage expectations, lead conversations with business and technical partners, and drive alignment
- Experience in people management or mentoring — you care about developing others and want to take an active role in shaping your team
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically — you can zoom out to help shape priorities and vision, but also roll up your sleeves to get things done
- A passion for delivery excellence, team health, and meaningful outcomes
- English C1
Nice to have:
- Hands-on familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, AWS/GCP)
- Experience working in a consultancy role
- Background in product ownership or product thinking
