Onsite Infrastructure and Lab Technician
We are seeking a dedicated Onsite Infrastructure and Lab Technician to support and maintain a large-scale test lab environment. This role is highly hands-on and requires daily interaction with physical systems, hardware components, and test infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that systems are operational, properly configured, and ready to support engineering and validation activities. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working directly with hardware and troubleshooting complex system issues in a lab setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Infrastructure and System Support
Maintain and support a large-scale DUT (Device Under Test) environment consisting of more than 3,000 physical systems and 9,000 virtual machines
Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows operating systems
Provision and recover virtual machines as required to support testing activities
Set up, validate, and maintain lab test environments and system configurations
Monitoring and Issue Resolution
Monitor system health using tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, and ELMO
Perform log collection and basic analysis across system and application layers
Respond to alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues when necessary
Hands-on Hardware Support
Assemble, rack, cable, and configure servers and workstations
Diagnose and replace faulty components, including central processing units, graphics processing units, memory, storage devices, power supplies, and cooling systems
Perform disk imaging, cloning, and system reconfiguration
Manage RAID configurations and perform basic storage troubleshooting
Ensure proper thermal conditions and physical organization within the lab
Firmware and System Maintenance
Execute firmware updates and flashing procedures for BIOS, BMC, and related components
Support configuration of remote management interfaces such as BMC and iLO
Assist with firmware validation and system readiness for testing
Required Qualifications
Experience working in a data center, hardware lab, or technical support environment
Strong hands-on experience with computer hardware assembly and troubleshooting
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Familiarity with system monitoring tools or willingness to learn
Ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced lab environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale lab or test environments
Familiarity with virtualization concepts and tools
Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
Experience with remote management interfaces such as iLO, BMC, or IPMI
