Junior Fullstack Developer

We are seeking a Junior Fullstack Developer to join our team working on OpenLMIS, a logistics management information system deployed at the national level. The person in this role will contribute to both the maintenance and development of this mission-critical, open-source software framework and its various implementations. This position is based in Gdynia and offers the opportunity to work with a sophisticated Java-based system utilizing Spring Boot, microservices architecture, PostgreSQL, and a React front-end communicating via REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the OpenLMIS platform, ensuring reliability and scalability within a production environment  (general info: https://openlmis.org/).

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, quality assurance professionals, project managers, and technical leads.

• Navigate and work comfortably with a complex, legacy codebase developed across multiple GIT repositories over several years.

• Apply a methodical approach to understanding, verifying, and modifying existing code to implement new features and fix issues.

• Engage in agile development practices to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in software development with a focus on Java and React technologies.

• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and navigating complex codebases developed by multiple contributors.

• Familiarity with the Spring framework, particularly Spring Boot.

• Experience with Docker containerization technologies.

• Knowledge of Hibernate or other JPA implementations.

• Competence in PostgreSQL, including strong SQL skills; administrative knowledge is advantageous.

• Experience using Gradle as a build automation tool; familiarity with build system development is a plus.

• Understanding of Jenkins continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with React and AngularJS frontend frameworks.

• Strong English communication skills enabling effective collaboration, documentation review, and meeting participation.

• Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and collaborative development environments
