Financial Application Engineer (Banking Sector)

We are looking for a Financial Application Engineer to join an international consulting project for a leading bank based in Luxembourg.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the intersection of financial systems, automation, application support, and DevOps.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide Level 2 support for financial applications.

• Support integration of new features into treasury and financial systems.

• Automate recurring operational tasks.

• Take part in deployments, environment maintenance, configuration management.

• Document solutions, processes, and best practices.

• Lead technical discussions and contribute to incident resolution.

• Drive continuous improvements within the platform and tooling.

Requirements:

• Experience in financial application support (e.g., Intellimatch, Calypso, 4Sight, Soliam, SWIFT, Bloomberg, Reuters, T24 or similar).

• Understanding of financial concepts (payments, securities, SWIFT).

• Scripting in Bash or PowerShell.

• Strong SQL skills – writing and optimizing queries.

• Operating systems: Linux, Windows Server.

• Experience with Azure DevOps or Ansible.

• Analytical mindset and strong problem‑solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setup.

• English language proficiency at least C1, plus another European language would be an asset.

• EU citizenship.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the banking or treasury domain.

• Exposure to cloud or integration tools.

• Ability to collaborate with both business and technical teams.

Contract & Offer:

• B2B contract via SHIMI.

• Rate: 415 - 435 EUR / MD (nett).

• Work mode: Relocation to Luxembourg, 1-2 days a week remotely, the rest from the Luxembourg office.
