Databricks Architect

We are looking for an experienced Databricks Architect to join our team and lead the design and implementation of advanced data solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures on Databricks.

• Define best practices for ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and Medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

• Establish data governance, quality, and security standards across projects.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Provide guidance on performance optimization, cost management, and architecture scalability.

• Review and mentor engineering teams on SQL, Python, and Databricks best practices.

• Drive adoption of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data orchestration practices.

• Evaluate and recommend tools for data cataloging, validation, and governance.

Requirements:

• Proven commercial experience designing and delivering enterprise data solutions on Databricks.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for data processing and analytics.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and Medallion architecture.

• Experience implementing data governance, quality controls, and data contracts.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data integration patterns.

• Good command of English (minimum B2) for seamless communication in an international environment.

• Experience leading teams and mentoring engineers.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with data cataloging and governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Collibra, Purview).

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks like Great Expectations.

• Certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Databricks Certified Architect.

• Previous experience in regulated industries (finance, insurance, pensions, etc.).
