Our customer is the European online car market with over 30 million monthly users, with a market presence in 18 countries. As a Senior/Leader Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online car markets and enhancing the user experience for millions of car buyers and sellers.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of existing services (e.g., bug fixes, security updates, improvements in Java, Scala, and TypeScript)
• Building new APIs and web applications (Java/ Scala)
• Migrating legacy services to new technologies (Scala/ Java)

Requirements:

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot for developing APIs and web applications.
• AWS 3+ years practical experience.
• A self-driven, quick learner who can grasp tasks, gather necessary information, and work independently.
• Understanding how to implement high-loaded applications.
• DevOps skills for monitoring and data analysis (DataDog).
• Exposure to or experience with Scala, or eagerness to learn it;
• Hands-on experience with Cloud hosting on AWS
• Experience with AWS RDS/SQL databases.
• Deep practical knowledge with AWS Lambda and AWS Kafka, AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS VPC, AWS ECS, AWS ECR, AWS SQS/SNS, AWS CloudWatch, AWS DynamoDB

Should-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in working with Docker/Containers.
• Experience with HTML
• Experience with CSS
• Hands-on experience with Typescript

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with observability tools like Datadog.
• Proficiency in React for web application development. 
• Experience with Scala
