Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and versatile Cloud/Hybrid IT Engineer (Senior or Mid) to join our team. This role combines expertise in cloud and on-premises environments to support and enhance the IT infrastructure of our customers, ensuring seamless operations across hybrid systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and execute projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

As a Cloud/Hybrid IT Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain solutions that bridge traditional IT systems with modern cloud platforms. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, ensure system reliability, and drive innovation through technology. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain hybrid IT systems, integrating on-premises and cloud environments.
• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies to optimize hybrid infrastructure.
• Manage cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, including resource provisioning, monitoring, and cost management.
• Implement and monitor cloud backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain and troubleshoot traditional IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
• Ensure effective integration between on-premises systems and cloud platforms.
• Manage virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and network configurations.
• Implement and manage security best practices across hybrid environments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies for data protection.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to mitigate risks.
• Lead or participate in IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Provide documentation and training as needed for implemented solutions.
• Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues.
• Respond to and resolve technical incidents promptly, minimizing impact on business operations.
• Utilize tools to analyse and optimize system performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (internal and external) to align IT solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying innovative solutions where applicable.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Senior level
• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2-3 years in hybrid environments (Senior). 
• Proven track record of leading IT projects and implementing complex solutions.
• Medior level
• 2-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with exposure to both cloud and on-premises systems.
• Relevant certifications preferred, such as:
• Cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Networking certifications (e.g., Azure networking, CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
• Virtualization certifications (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure Stack HCI, VMware VCP).
• Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises systems with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting on-premises infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and SAN/NAS storage solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and experience managing firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including configuring and managing virtual machines, containers, cloud storage, and network services.
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks and best practices, including identity management, access control, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
