Senior Technical Product Owner (Remote)

Job Overview:

As a Senior Technical Product Owner with 5+ years of experience, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a portfolio of products that align with our company's strategic goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, design, marketing, customer support and clinical — to ensure we deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and drive business value. This role requires strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Vision: Gather and analyse requirements from stakeholders to define product vision, goals, and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Effectively communicate the product vision and requirements to the team.
• Product Specification Management: Produce and communicate product requirements, including requirement specifications, user stories, wireframes, acceptance criteria & prototypes.
• Backlog Management: Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that items are prioritised based on business value, stakeholder input, and user feedback. Clearly define and refine backlog items, ensuring user stories are well-documented, meet acceptance criteria, and are sprint-ready to enable smooth and efficient development cycles. Align prioritisation and readiness with delivery timelines to enable smooth and efficient development cycles.
• Sprint Planning & Execution: Collaborate with project leaders to lead sprint planning sessions, define clear acceptance criteria, and ensure that user stories are well defined and ready for development.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering, design, QA, marketing and clinical teams to ensure timely and successful product delivery.
• Customer-Centric Focus: Gather and analyse user feedback, monitor product performance, and leverage data to continuously improve the product.
• Third-Party Collaboration & Integration: Facilitate interactions with third-party vendors to manage technical integrations and provide support, ensuring seamless functionality and successful partnerships.
• Remote Collaboration: Use remote-first communication tools to effectively collaborate with distributed teams and stakeholders across different time zones.
• Continuous Improvement: Maintain feature integrity through regular user acceptance testing. Advocate for best practices in product management and contribute to process improvements across the organisation.

Professional Experience, Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an agile environment, preferably within a remote-first or distributed team.
• Product Management Expertise: Strong understanding of product management principles, agile methodologies, and experience managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of technical concepts (APIs, SQL, data privacy and security), with the ability to work closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and constraints.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading teams of product managers.
• Remote Work Experience: Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment, managing time and priorities across different time zones.

Education

• Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in a technology discipline.

Desirable Skills:

• UX/UI Awareness: Understanding of design principles and user experience, with the ability to work closely with design teams to create intuitive user interfaces.
• Market Insight: Knowledge of the competitive landscape and trends within our industry, and the ability to apply this insight to product strategy.
• Agile Certifications: Certifications such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or equivalent are a plus.
