Oracle Developer with German
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Oracle Developer with a strong background in data engineering and a command of the German language. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional relational database excellence and modern cloud data architectures. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining complex Oracle environments while building scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt within a Lakehouse ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Database Engineering: Lead the design, modeling, and performance tuning of cloud-based relational databases.
Oracle Mastery: Develop and optimize advanced SQL and PL/SQL code, including partitioning strategies, backup/recovery procedures, and high-availability setups.
Data Pipelines: Build and maintain robust data integration flows and system integrations using Python (3.x).
Modern Data Stack: Leverage dbt (Core/Cloud) and Starburst/Trino to transform and orchestrate data within Lakehouse environments.
Architecture & Governance: Define technical architecture using the C4 model, document decision-making through ADRs, and maintain high-quality documentation in Confluence.
DevOps Integration: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of your code by implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, quality assurance, and seamless deployment.
Technical Requirements
Oracle & SQL: Expert-level proficiency in Oracle databases, PL/SQL programming, and deep knowledge of database internals (optimization, indexing, partitioning).
Cloud Data: Strong experience in designing and scaling relational databases in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/OCI).
Python: Solid hands-on experience in Python 3.x, specifically for data engineering and automation tasks.
Data Engineering Tools: Proven track record with dbt and experience with distributed query engines like Starburst/Trino.
Architecture: Ability to visualize complex systems (C4 Model) and a structured approach to technical documentation (ADRs).
DevOps: Practical experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) and a "Shift-Left" approach to quality.
Language & Soft Skills
German: Minimum B2/C1 level – ability to participate in technical discussions, document solutions, and collaborate with German-speaking stakeholders.
English: Communicative level for internal global collaboration.
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on system performance and reliability.
