Platform Full Stack Engineer

Kitopi’s kitchens are powered by its proprietary Smart Kitchen Operating System (SKOS) - an in-house suite of applications that optimizes cloud kitchen operations in the real-time. As part of its growth roadmap, technological innovation, data science, artificial intelligence, and will take center stage as Kitopi continues to reinvent the food industry as we know it today.

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our team in building scalable platform solutions with a balanced focus on frontend and backend development. This role is pivotal in enhancing our platform’s functionality and user experience, bridging frontend interfaces with robust backend systems. The ideal candidate is a versatile engineer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering end-to-end solutions. Experience with AWS, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern cloud concepts is highly valued.

• Has at least 5 years of experience in commercial software development, with expertise in both frontend and backend technologies. 

• Is a problem solver with a diverse toolkit, capable of addressing challenges across the full stack. 

• Communicates effectively, using clear and direct communication to drive efficiency. 

• Demonstrates strong ownership, leading problem discovery and delivering impactful solutions. 

• Works autonomously while excelling as a collaborative team player. 

• Feels accountable for deliverables and can justify trade-offs and effort. 

• Has practical experience applying agile methodologies. 

• Identifies as a T-shaped specialist with a focus on full stack development. 

  
  

What You Can Expect 

• Work in our Tech Hub in Kraków, Poland, playing a key role in enhancing our platform solutions for superior functionality and reliability. 

• Engage in a collaborative environment with a hybrid work policy, requiring 1 day in the office to foster teamwork and in-person connections. 

• Contribute to building and enhancing our company’s developer portal using Backstage to streamline tools and workflows for our engineering teams. 

• Participate deeply in the platform development process, from collaborating on technical requirements with Product Teams, through implementation and delivery, to supporting solutions in production. 

• Manage your time and priorities autonomously, delivering solutions in iterative, manageable increments. 

• Leverage strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to knowledge sharing, as communication is critical to our team's success and smooth operations. 

• Grow your expertise in cloud infrastructure, architecture, and AI-augmented coding, leveraging our wide portfolio of AI tools used daily to boost productivity and innovation. 

  
  

Required Skills and Experience 

• Solid experience with: 

• Backend Technologies: 

  • Java 17/21 

  • Spring Boot 

  • Database management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) 

• Frontend Technologies: 

  • ES2020 or newer 

  • TypeScript 

  • React 

• Methodologies and tools supporting software quality (tests, code reviews, CI/CD) 

• Diagnosing and resolving production issues 

• Good command of written and spoken English (B2 level) 

  
  

Nice-to-Have Skills 

• Experience with frontend tools and frameworks: 

  • React Testing Library (component/integration testing) 

  • Jest or Vitest 

  • Tools for building/scaffolding applications, such as Vite or Webpack 

  • Proposing visual solutions using HTML & CSS mockups (basics) 

• Experience with software catalogues like Backstage or similar 

• Familiarity with cloud and platform technologies: 

  • AWS 

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, GitOps 

• Experience with: 

  • ReactQuery 

  • E2E testing with Playwright 

  • Tools like GitLab CI/CD or similar
