Role and Responsibilities:
With our previous developer's contract having ended, we are now hiring a full-time sole developer to lead all technical and development activities for Cove and our existing businesses. You'll take ownership of developing Cove’s core platform, implementing both front- and back-end functionality, and ensuring a flawless user experience, while also maintaining our existing websites: megamac.com and thegrowthclinic.co.uk. Working closely with our team, including our founder who has a computer science background, you’ll help shape the business and drive our growth. We're looking for someone who’s capable of driving results.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Wants to grow fast in a dynamic, early-stage environment
- Experience with full-stack development, including front-end (React, Remix) and back-end (Node.js, Python) technologies - ideally ~3+ years
- Proficient in database management (SQL) and secure server-side development
- Experience in writing automated tests
- Experience deploying code to cloud production environments
- Experience monitoring code in production environments
- Skilled with Git and version control
- Obsessed with user-focused, intuitive design and functionality
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation skills
- Able to create clear, actionable GitHub issues
- Graduated with a computer science degree
- Delivery driven & can deliver fast
- Fluent in English - min. B2 (our manager is Polish but all of your other colleagues speak English)
Full-Stack Development Skills:

Design Implementation: Convert high-fidelity designs into fast, functional pages with optimal UI/UX.

Responsive Design: Ensure flawless performance across all devices and screen sizes.

Performance Optimisation: Maximise speed through asset compression, caching, and code optimisation.

Database Management: Build and maintain secure, high-performance databases.

API Development: Develop efficient APIs for seamless front-end and back-end integration.

App Development: Develop an iOS app for our customers.

Payments Integration: Implement various payment systems (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
General Responsibilities:

System Development: Develop all core systems and infrastructure to support Cove’s growth.

Website & App Development: Take full ownership of developing a fast, user-friendly website & app, optimised for performance.

Website Management: Maintaining and managing our two already existing websites: an e-commerce shop megamac.com, and a hair loss clinic: thegrowthclinic.co.uk.

Payments & Bookings: Build secure, seamless systems for transactions and bookings, including real-time scheduling, and integration with payment gateways and calendar tools.

Testing & Quality: Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure reliability across systems and the website.

Documentation: Maintain clear, concise documentation for code and configurations.

Framework/Library Updates: Keep frameworks and libraries updated for security and stability.

Practicalities:
- This is a full-time role.
- Our team work in the office 5 days per week in Shoreditch, Central London. When culture lines up, it's fun to be in the office together. We’ll want you to travel to London regularly to work in our office, bond with the team, and get to know each other.
- Salary: 22 000 - 30 000 PLN per month based on experience.
- Location: Remote, with occasional travel to our London office at Fora Brick Lane (frequency to be agreed).
- Reporting to: Sandra Jasińska.
- Start date: The target start date for this role is mid-March 2025. Please apply even if you couldn't start mid-March. We are willing to wait for the right candidate!
