IT Business Analyst (Energy sector)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, particularly Allegro and Exxeta. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience, with a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, and hands-on experience with Trayport, Azure, Jira, and Confluence.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, trading teams, IT, and external vendors to gather and analyze requirements, enhance existing systems, and deliver innovative, scalable solutions in a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyze business and system requirements for ETRM solutions, with a focus on Allegro and Exxeta platforms.
• Liaise with traders, risk managers, and operations teams to understand and translate complex trading processes into functional specifications.
• Analyze and document the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from trade capture to settlement and reporting.
• Collaborate with technical teams to design, develop, and implement scalable solutions in Azure cloud environments.
• Lead or support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and change management activities.
• Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks using Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation.
• Interface with Trayport for trade execution and data integration.
• Support project planning, scope definition, timeline estimation, and risk assessment.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on ETRM systems.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Allegro and Exxeta.
• Proven experience with Azure cloud services, particularly within trading or energy domains.
• Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and associated operational and risk management processes.
• Experience working with or integrating Trayport trading platform.
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for Agile project delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong stakeholder management and business-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in energy trading, utilities, or commodities sectors.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in energy markets.
• Background in data modeling, process mapping, or systems integration.
