Project

---

As a Senior SQL Developer, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing a fund administration system that handles large volumes of financial data and reporting. The system is built primarily on SQL – this is the core technology and most important part of the solution.

Java is also used in the system architecture, but only occasionally modified – roughly 5% of the work. If you're passionate about SQL, enjoy working with complex data, and are curious about the financial industry – this is the role for you.

 

What you'll be doing

• Design, implement, and maintain complex database solutions using Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Program SQL functions, optimize queries, and ensure high data quality
• Support integrations with external applications and systems
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues across the data and system architecture
• Occasionally contribute to Java-related tasks when necessary (minimal, ~5%)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable, efficient solutions
• Understand and navigate a financial environment with large volumes of data and complex reporting needs
• Participate in architecture discussions and system mapping

 

Expected competences and knowledge

• Proven experience as a Senior Developer with strong expertise in SQL (Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
• Proficiency in writing SQL functions and managing large datasets
• Solid knowledge of query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing
• Understanding of data-driven system architecture and cross-system integrations
• Familiarity with Java (understanding and occasional use, but not core responsibility)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking
• Willingness to understand the specifics of the financial industry (banking, insurance, fund management)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

 

Nice to have

• Experience in financial or insurance industries
• Microsoft SQL Server certification
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing
• Familiarity with additional programming languages or frameworks
