Senior Java Developer (Finance)

Salary: 1000-1300 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: elastic hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk (at least 2 days per week from the office)

Project

You will be involved in a financial project focused on the implementation of Payment Services Directive (PSD2/PSD3) regulations and the development of an Open Banking API platform. The project aims to provide secure, scalable, and customer-oriented digital API services for business banking clients across the Nordic countries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enabling innovative financial solutions.

Responsibilities you'll have

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and product owners to deliver compliant PSD2/PSD3 services
• Ensure code quality through unit testing (JUnit) and best development practices
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of a modern API platform for Open Banking
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and test environments
• Work in a cross-border digital hub with colleagues from Nordic countries and Poland

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong expertise in Java (5+ years of experience)
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot and related frameworks
• Hands-on experience with JUnit for automated testing
• Familiarity with Maven for build and dependency management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in an international, cross-functional team

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of reactive programming frameworks such as Spring WebFlux 
• Understanding of database interaction with Hibernate
