Release Manager

Salary: 800-1050 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: elastic hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk (at least 3 days per week from the office)

Project

You will join the client’s Execution & Delivery Unit, a team responsible for enabling efficient, scalable, and repeatable release management operations across a wide range of IT initiatives. The team plays a key role in ensuring that technology platforms and applications are delivered in a structured, reliable, and compliant manner.

In the role of Release Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing releases with a strong focus on quality, operational stability, and adherence to internal standards. You will work closely with a broad group of stakeholders, including release managers, test managers, product owners, execution leads, scrum masters, and operations teams, to ensure safe and successful deliveries.

Expected competences and knowledge

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related discipline
• Strong IT project management and planning skills with 5+ years of experience
• Previous experience in release or deployment management, preferably within the banking sector
• Practical understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies
• Experience working with incident, problem, and change management processes and tools under the ITIL framework
• Confident use of project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Basic understanding of DevOps ways of working
• Technical mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with development teams
• Ability to create and validate deployment runbooks in collaboration with technical teams
• Strong interest in working with release orchestration tools to build automated release pipelines together with technical experts
• Excellent networking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical mindset with strong coordination, planning, and organizational abilities
• High attention to detail while maintaining an overall view of commitments and dependencies
• Accountability, proactivity, and the ability to adapt quickly to change
• Flexibility to work paid evenings and weekends during implementation events
• Highly proficient spoken and written English

Nice to have

• Experience with release and deployment automation activities (CICD, microservices setup, Jenkins, Digital.ai)

Responsibilities you'll have

• Coordinating, planning and maintaining the release roadmap for one or more applications
• Release and deployment planning and coordination of multiple parallel releases
• Planning release go live and post-go-live activities
• Planning, coordinating and tracking change activities throughout the release process
• Leading release decision meetings to secure stakeholder approval for each release milestone
• Planning and setting up handover sessions from development teams to operations teams
• Increasing release quality and efficiency by integrating new techniques, automation capabilities, and DevOps ways of working to release orchestration
