Application Support Engineer (Mainframe)

Salary: 800 - 1050 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: elastic hybrid from Gdańsk (at least 2 days per week from the office)

Project

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer (Mainframe) to join a BizDevOps SAFe Agile team, focusing on application maintenance, lifecycle management, and ensuring high-quality IT services in the payments domain.

Responsibilities you'll have

• Supporting and maintaining mainframe-based applications in a production environment
• Handling incidents, problems, and service requests in line with SLA and quality standards
• Participating in application lifecycle management and continuous improvements
• Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver changes and enhancements
• Contributing to backlog refinement and Agile ceremonies (SAFe)
• Driving assigned parts of change initiatives and ensuring sustainable solutions
• Improving system stability, performance, and reliability
• Ensuring applications meet business requirements and service level expectations

Expected competences and knowledge

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe (z/OS) in an operational environment
• Solid knowledge of DB2 (including data analysis and querying)
• Experience with JCL and workload automation tools (e.g., TWS/OPC)
• Ability to analyze and work with mainframe files (including hexadecimal data)
• Understanding of application maintenance, incident and problem management processes
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe ways of working
• Knowledge of payments domain (SWIFT, MT940/950, camt.052/053, transactions, statements)
• Experience with system monitoring and production support
• Nice to have: Linux (Red Hat), Oracle, XML
