Senior JasperReports Layout Specialist – Financial Reporting

As a Senior JasperReports Layout Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leader in financial services, dedicated to delivering accurate and visually compelling reports. You will play a pivotal role in the migration of a longstanding reporting system, focusing on designing, developing, and verifying high-fidelity PDF reports for investment fund performance and financial analysis. Your main responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced JasperReports/Jaspersoft Studio templates (JRXML) to ensure pixel-perfect, print-ready PDF output.
• Analyze existing reports for layout parity, scalability, and visual consistency during migration.
• Develop dynamic tables, sections, and subreports with complex pagination, page breaks, and conditional styling.
• Assess technical feasibility and identify custom solutions or workarounds for complex report features.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and domain experts to translate business requirements into robust report designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve rendering issues, font embedding problems, and layout discrepancies.
• Participate in technical spikes and risk assessments related to report transformation.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ years of experience with JasperReports, Jaspersoft Studio, JRXML, or similar enterprise reporting tools.
• Strong expertise in PDF rendering, pixel-perfect layout design, and dynamic report content.
• Extensive knowledge of report layout principles, font management, pagination, and complex conditional sections.
• Experience evaluating report migration feasibility and implementing design solutions accordingly.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to interpret reporting needs into technical specifications.
• Good understanding of layout challenges with variable data and document rendering.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Experience with financial, client, or regulatory reporting.
• Basic knowledge of Java.
• Familiarity with other reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, BIRT, or Oracle BI Publisher.
• Experience with PDF troubleshooting, export issues, or related document generation frameworks like Apache FOP, iText, or PDFBox.
• Background in migration projects or legacy system transformation.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent in Polish and English.
