As a Senior Data Governance & PMO Specialist – Financial Services, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution committed to harnessing data excellence to drive smarter decision-making and risk management. In this pivotal role within HSBC's Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), you will support data delivery activities and projects within the Risk domain, ensuring robust governance, metrics, and reporting across the entire data portfolio. Your main responsibilities:
- Support the Programme Manager and collaborate with Project Managers to deliver projects aligned with business plans, scope, and quality standards.
- Conduct RAID monitoring and escalation to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Manage and oversee delivery governance in accordance with HSBC’s Change Framework.
- Monitor, report, and control delivery budgets and expenditure.
- Track benefits and OKRs proactively against strategic objectives.
- Uphold DAO reporting standards through quality updates on milestones, risks, and progress.
- Implement DAO delivery standards and perform quality assurance throughout project lifecycles.
- Maintain and update comprehensive project documentation and information sources.
- Facilitate delivery setup, ongoing tracking, and closure activities.
- Act as a Change Framework SME, providing expert advice and managing internal communications.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Share best practices and contribute to the wider DAO Centre of Excellence by providing insights and lessons learned.
- Promote agile ways of working, supporting continuous process improvement.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in a PMO role within a data management or governance environment.
- Solid understanding of Data Management and Data Governance principles.
- Proven success in managing projects involving cross-functional teams, preferably within financial services.
- Experience working on data-related change initiatives.
- Working knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Hands-on experience with agile management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Familiarity with HSBC standards, frameworks, and processes.
- Strong stakeholder influence, relationship-building skills, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing process improvements at portfolios or programme levels.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English at a fluent level.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSPO).
- Experience working in international or cross-border project environments.
