Senior Data Governance Specialist (REMOTE)

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist to support our AI‑ready Data initiative, which aims to strengthen our enterprise data foundation and enable scalable, trusted, and AI‑ready data across the organization. This senior, hands‑on role focuses on driving implementation and adoption of data governance practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Data Governance, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively across business and technology domains.

The Senior Data Governance Specialist will lead and champion data governance practices across the organization.

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of data governance practices.

• Support Data Domain Owners and Data Stewards in data governance processes.

• Drive the adoption of shared business terminology and data definitions.

• Define and operationalize governance workflows and decision forums.

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to integrate governance into data initiatives.

• Contribute to the implementation of data governance tooling.

• Oversee business glossary and governance alignment across domains.

• Ensure maintenance of metadata and governance artifacts in data tools.

• Identify opportunities to improve data management capabilities.

• Mentor junior governance practitioners.

Key Requirements

• Several years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management roles.

• Proven ability to work across business and technology realms.

• Hands-on experience with data governance and metadata tooling.

• Ability to implement governance frameworks at scale.

• Deep understanding of data ownership, stewardship, and data quality.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Experience documenting guidelines and standards.

• Facilitation and pedagogic skills.

• Experience supporting analytics and data engineering teams.
