Junior Scrum Master – Agile Software Development

As a Junior Scrum Master, you will be working for our client, a forward-thinking software organization dedicated to delivering innovative digital solutions. Your main responsibilities:

• Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Track and communicate sprint progress, team velocity, and key Agile metrics to stakeholders.
• Identify and proactively remove blockers that impede team delivery.
• Coach team members on Agile values, principles, and Scrum practices.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help the team adopt new practices iteratively.
• Maintain clear documentation in project management tools (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).
• Facilitate transparent communication between the development team, stakeholders, and management.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application.
• Active Scrum certification: CSM, PSM I, or equivalent.
• Very good English communication skills (spoken and written) — C1 level minimum; you will work daily in English across distributed teams.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or similar.
• Proven ability to facilitate meetings and workshops in a remote setting.
• Self-organised, proactive, and comfortable working asynchronously across time zones.
• Located in Portugal or Poland (EU time zone required).

Nice to have: (optional)

• Experience with SAFe, LeSS, or other scaled Agile frameworks.
• Background or exposure to software development or technical teams.
• Knowledge of stakeholder management and Agile reporting (burndown charts, velocity tracking).
• Additional certifications: PSM II, PMI-ACP, or PSPO.
• Experience working in product-led or startup environments.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written) — C1 level minimum.
