Backend Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking two experienced Backend Engineers to join Secro’s fast-growing SaaS scale-up on its mission to transform global trade. Secro is building a state-of-the-art supply chain, LegalTech, and fintech platform to eradicate inefficiencies and fraud in the maritime business. You will be part of a global, culturally diverse development team, working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver a world-class platform.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer;

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript;

• Hands-on experience with NestJS (backend) and Next.js/React (frontend);

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication methods, and integration practices;

• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and ORM tools such as TypeORM;

• Exposure to AWS services (RDS, S3, SQS, SES, Cognito, DynamoDB) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus);

• Experience working in SaaS or B2B product development environments;

• Bonus: knowledge of blockchain, encryption, digital signatures, or PDF processing;

• Excellent communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain full-stack features using NestJS, Next.js, and TypeScript within Secro’s platform;

• Implement integrations with REST APIs and client-specific requirements;

• Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable backend services, including authentication and data handling;

• Collaborate with the tech lead/architect to define technical direction, system design, and coding standards;

• Participate in onboarding sessions to understand Secro’s proprietary frameworks and apply them in daily work;

• Support customer onboarding projects by delivering high-quality, production-ready code on time;

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
