Senior Generative AI Software Engineer (Azure)

We are looking for a Senior Generative AI Software Engineer (Azure) to join our client’s evolving and fast-moving transformation initiative. In this role, you’ll help develop advanced, production-ready generative AI solutions that directly support global operations in areas like supply chain, procurement, and finance.

The team you’ll join is part of a larger strategic program undergoing rapid organizational and operational change. The ambition is to build a high-performing Agile team that can deliver high-value outcomes in short timeframes while adapting to dynamic business priorities. This is a senior individual contributor role — ideal for someone with deep technical skills, autonomy, and a passion for building robust systems using cutting-edge Azure and AI technologies.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional team operating within a refined value delivery model, where backlog flows from stakeholders through product owners, structured around epics, features, and user stories — from planning to review, with a continuous focus on measurable progress.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain REST APIs connecting enterprise systems, chatbots, and LLMs.
• Integrate LLM models (e.g., Azure OpenAI) into backend services to process queries at scale.
• Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL data models for chatbot and analytics workflows.
• Build scalable, cloud-native solutions using Azure App Services, Functions, and Cognitive Services.
• Write clean, testable code in C# and Python, adhering to best practices.
• Implement observability: logging, monitoring, alerting for production systems.
• Ensure security, performance, and scalability of backend services.
• Work closely with other developers, AI experts, DevOps, and product owners.
• Contribute to documentation and participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, and reviews.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of backend/software engineering experience, with a focus on scalable, production systems.
• Strong proficiency in C# and Python.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure services, including App Services, Azure Functions, and Cognitive Services.
• Practical knowledge of REST API design and system integrations.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL databases, ETL flows, and cloud storage.
• Understanding of application security and secure system architecture.
• Independent, proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Nice to have

• Experience working with chatbots, LLMs, or other Generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Bot Framework or similar chatbot stacks.
• Experience with prompt engineering, vector stores, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• SQL query tuning and performance optimization skills.
