We're seeking a Java Tech Lead with a strong focus on backend development, and intermediate experience in SRE/DevOps.

In this role, you'll do hands-on development, providing mentorship to a team of engineers, supporting their professional growth. You'll collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, other Tech Leads, and the Head of Engineering to develop and maintain our backend systems, ensuring they meet high engineering standards.

What you’ll do

• Hands-on Development: Engage in coding tasks to set technical standards.

• Mentorship: Guide less senior developers, fostering their growth and skill development.

• CI/CD: Optimize pipelines and increase automation

• Monitoring: Implement CloudWatch and CloudTrail for proactive issue detection.

• Performance: Ensure systems meet SLAs/SLOs; plan for resilience.

• Security: Collaborate on security compliance and best practices.

• Incident Management: Lead swift resolution and root cause analysis.

• Mentorship: Guide team in DevOps/SRE practices.

• Innovation: Stay current with trends; drive improvements.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Concepts and skills: Test-Driven Development (TDD), Clean Code principles, SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Coupling, Cohesion, Modularity, Composition, Encapsulation, Responsibility Segregation, Abstraction, Code Review, Code Architectures (Layered Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture), Package organization types (by feature, by layer), System Architectures (Modular Monolith, Microservices), System Design,

• Databases (RDBMS, NoSQL, Transactions ,ACID vs. BASE, consistency ,sharding,  replication)

• CI/CD, Jenkins + Groovy

• Testing (Testing Trophy ,Pyramid , Schools of Unit Testing, Functional and Non-Functional Testing)

• Observability, Resilience, Scalability, Logging, SLAs / SLOs / SLIs,  DORA metrics, Root Cause Analysis, Intermediate knowledge in SRE/DevOps

• Linux, Containers, Docker, Networking, Protocols, Security

• Technology like: Java 17 / 21,Spring Boot 3.x, Maven, JPA/Hibernate, AWS (EKS, EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, SAM, S3, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, VPC, Load Balancers, Route 53, SQS,SNS, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager (ACM), CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Terraform)

• Technical Leadership (Documents technical decisions (ADRs, EDRs), Familiar with at least one decision-making framework (e.g., RAPID),  Seeks consensus, especially when facilitating technical decision-making, Leads with questions)
