Tech Lead - Cloud Platform
Join us in building the next generation of high‑security digital infrastructure.
Description
Do you want to be part of creating a safer world? Without noticing it, you encounter our solutions every day — in transit, at work, when you shop, and when you travel. From airports and public transport to retail and high‑risk sites, Gunnebo protects people, valuables, and operations around the globe.
We are transforming the security industry through digitalization, connectivity, and cloud‑native platforms. If you're excited by impactful technology, modern engineering practices, and a global multi‑cultural environment, this is your chance to join a company that is small enough for your ideas to matter, and big enough to make them real.
About Us
We’re the Cloud & Connectivity team — the group behind Gunnebo’s high security digital ecosystem. We are organized by stack including: hardware/electronics/firmware team, cloud platform team, and mobile applications team, enabling secure and scalable solutions used by banks, financial institutions and commercial safe owners.
Although Gunnebo is a global security leader with decades of expertise, our engineering culture is deliberately startup like high trust, low bureaucracy, hands-on, fast, curious, and collaborative. You’ll work with people who love technology, value craftsmanship, and care deeply about building secure and reliable systems.
We are still building new team structures, defining ownership areas, and maturing processes and governance — structured enough to feel stable, but early enough that your input genuinely shapes how we work.
We are looking for a Tech Lead for the Cloud Platform team.
If you don’t meet every requirement — that’s perfectly fine. Tell us where you shine, where you want to grow, and what unique perspective you bring. We welcome diverse backgrounds and encourage applicants from all underrepresented groups in tech.
You match the role if:
You have deep experience in backend development, especially with C#/.NET and modern architectural patterns.
You aspire to own high security, cloud native architecture end-to-end.
You understand (or want to understand deeply) how hardware, firmware, and distributed systems interact.
You have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and are happy to learn more if needed.
You have experience operating, maintaining, and improving production cloud systems — not just designing them.
You know how to design scalability, resilience, disaster recovery, zero trust, and cost optimized architectures.
You provide effective guidance and mentorship to engineers and consistently communicate with clarity and professionalism.
You are an evangelist of secure coding, safe defaults, clean architecture, and continuous improvement.
You are comfortable working in English (B2+).
It’s a plus if:
You’ve worked with IoT ecosystems
You’ve been responsible for backend services through incidents, scaling challenges, or major production changes.
You have experience with observability, telemetry, or performance tuning.
· You have been working in compliance and certification of heavy environments, ensuring the application of security and compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, STAR, Privacy by Design, and Zero Trust.
You previously worked with Cybersecurity Resilience Act (CRA)
You have exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or frontend development.
We will want you to:
Own the long-term reliability, stability, and evolution of backend and cloud services running in production.
Build cloud‑native features using C#/.NET, Azure Functions, and serverless patterns.
Take hands‑on ownership of stabilizing, hardening, and evolving existing backend services running in production (.NET / Azure).
Own deployment governance, environments, and CI/CD practices — including release quality, testing discipline, rollback strategies, and access control.
Design and refine clear service boundaries and integration patterns to support long‑term maintainability, security, and scale.
Implement and maintain secure credential management with Azure Key Vault.
Work closely with Product, QA, apps, firmware, hardware, and external experts.
Improve observability, monitoring, and cost efficiency with dashboards and alerts.
Document architecture, decisions, and patterns clearly.
Promote ownership, innovation, and engineering excellence.
· Use AI responsibly to accelerate development, improve code quality, assist with architectural decisions, and automate repetitive work — with the possibility to influence our long‑term AI‑augmented engineering practices.
In return we’re offering:
Polish employment contract combined with Swedish work culture — trust based, family friendly, and focused on work life balance.
Remote first setup, with occasional travel to Sweden, periodic inperson meetings in Poland and other travel, if necessary. Usually not more often than once in a quarter.
An inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment — we particularly welcome women and underrepresented groups in tech.
Private Medical Care, fully financed by the employer.
Sports Card in one of the three options to choose from.
Employee pension scheme (PPE), fully financed by the employer (additional rules apply)
Individual learning paths + an AI learning path for all team members.
Hands‑on access to hardware, firmware, test rigs, and devices — ideal for engineers who love understanding full systems.
