    About the role

    The Project Portfolio Manager (focus: Risk Management) is a global IT governance role overseeing the whole IT portfolio of Group Technology projects across ERGO and Munich Re. It provides services to various stakeholders at the senior management and board member levels, monitors the progress of the IT portfolio, sets governance boundaries, and consequently improves the company’s capability to deliver projects by providing guidance and coaching.

    In this role, you will oversee project risk frameworks through the whole portfolio to identify risks for the organization across multiple towers (units) and find ways to reduce those risks through planning and problem-solving.


    How you will get the job done

    • applying of risk management standards
    • executing regular aggregated risk views on portfolio level
    • aligning with IRM (Integrated Risk Management) on project and portfolio risks as well as risk framework methodology
    • driving functional requirements for PPM systems in use in order to facilitate risk reporting and tracking on both project/program and portfolio level; defining project portfolio reports in the risk area
    • ensuring risk framework awareness and training for the relevant employees, project managers, department heads
    • collaborating with stakeholders (Tower Portfolio Managers) from all solution delivery towers; coordination of reporting to the Board and senior managers
    • standardizing and unifying of risk project management methods considering the organization of work in the new tools
    • verifying the consistency and adequacy of data on a global level


    Skills and experience you will need

    • fluency in English
    • knowledge of standards and methodologies related to project management
    • experience as a Portfolio, Project, Product or Risk Manager
    • analytical, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
    • sound methodological skills and experience in the application of risk management processes
    • excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to present facts in a comprehensible and concise manner; convincing and confident board / MD level communication
    • ability to define information needs and to design report layouts
    • resistance to stress and ability to work under time pressure
    • proven attention to detail and quality
    • advanced knowledge of Office package
    • “can-do” attitude, friendly, outgoing personality
    • willingness to travel (up to 10%)


    Nice to have

    • knowledge of Polish and/or German language is a plus
    • practical knowledge of project management tools (eg. Clarity, MS Project)
    • basic understanding of databases, advanced Excel skills (Power Query, VBA)
    • experience in the (re)insurance (or regulated) and/or IT industry
    • practical experience working in an international, multicultural environment
