We are seeking a highly skilled Unix Administrator to manage and maintain our Unix-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s Unix environment. This role involves troubleshooting, optimizing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support critical business operations.
MD rate: 11 700 – 15 000 PLN
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix operating systems (e.g., AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux).
- Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of Unix-based services.
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and security configurations.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python).
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure and application deployment.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

3+ years of experience as a Unix Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration with hands-on experience in system installation, configuration, and management.
- Strong knowledge of shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python) for automation.
- Experience with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, NFS) and security best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with backup and recovery tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with cloud-based Unix environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or KVM.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Certification in Unix/Linux administration (e.g., RHCE, LPIC, CompTIA Linux+).
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
