Senior RPG Developer

Project Information:

• Industry: banking

• Location: Poland - Warsaw/ Gdansk or Gdynia., with possible remote work (2 days per week in the office required).

• Team Structure: Requires collaboration with multiple international teams.

• Rate: up to 170 PLN/H netto + VAT/B2B

• Summary: The primary objective of the Senior RPG Developer role is to design, develop, and maintain IBMi applications that support business services, contributing significantly to the Commercial Cards team.

Main Responsibilities:As a Senior RPG Developer, you will be engaged in core development activities. Below are key responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining applications using RPG IV, RPG free format, and ILE RPG.

• Collaborating within agile team and ART.

• Working with various internal and external stakeholders.

• Troubleshooting and resolving issues in existing applications.

• Optimizing application performance and ensuring code quality.

Key Requirements:The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience on IBM i platform (AS400).

• Expertise in IBM I ILE CL, RPGLE, SQL, DB2 technologies.

• Development of application components in ILE in RPG.

• Complex embedded SQL programming.

• Creating and maintaining service programs.

• Experience with web services and APIs.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in IBM i environment.

• Designing application elements based on requirements agreed with business.

• Ability to create technical and user documentation for developed functionalities.

• Proficiency in RDi.

• Ability to compare sources and objects at different levels.

• Capability to investigate programs and understand how to test.

Nice to Have:Complementary skills that will be advantageous include:

• Knowledge of reading old code (RPG4 and RPG3).

• Knowledge of ALM tool Rocket Aldon.

• Experience/certification in Scaled Agile Framework.

• Experience from the financial industry, preferably from Cards area.
